Hand Stripping is a specialised service and is best suited to breads with wire or silky coat types, for these types of coats it's the correct grooming technique and will leave the coat looking at its best, full of colour with a natural finish. Clipping these coat types just the once could result in a damaged coat.

Hand-stripping is a grooming technique that involves pulling/plucking the dead coat out by hand instead of cutting the hair with scissors,clippers,or blades. We at Precious Poochies only use latex finger condoms and chalk to pull out the hairs, therefore maintaining the natural condition of your dogs coat, as you can understand this is a specialist service and will take some time to complete therefore it's reflected in the cost of the groom.  

This process maintains the proper coat texture and colour in the breeds where it is employed

This service includes -

• Hand strip the coat to remove the excess hair and enhance the coats natural condition
  
• Ear cleaning
• Nail clipping
• Hygiene trim
• Hand scissor styling to feathering (this is the correct technique for these areas)
• Removal of excess hair from pads
• Warm soothing massaging bath using our state of the art hydrobath using the multi-award winning Melanie Newman Salon Essentials range.
• Blow dried using safe drying techniques (we don't use cage dryers or cabinet dryers)
• Thorough brush out and minor mat removal, excess matting would incur further charges.
• Finished off with a bandana/bow and a spritz of designer cologne
